Overview

With the exceedingly growing popularity of our Club, London Sharks is expanding. Flourishing into an Academy, and taking part in both Junior and Senior leagues, the Sharks are recruiting Gameday Statisticians to assist us with our basketball programmes in South London and the surrounding area! Currently playing in the National Basketball League, London Sharks is looking for motivated statisticians to add to our team of dedicated volunteers who participate equally to ensure the successful outcome of games.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Gameday Statistician, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that game sheets are correctly filled out and signed accordingly by Coaches and Table Officials before and after games
  • Filling out game sheets during the game
  • Updating both online and table stats reporting, and liaising with the PR department for virtual updates
  • Operating clock and scoreboard
  • Liaising with Sports officials prior, on the day of games, and after
  • Taking part in training games running upto league games

Requirements

  • Minimum Advanced Statistics Certificate
  • Reliable, committed, and organised
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Full Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • Previous Stats Experience in scorekeeping and/or sports stats is an asset
  • In-Depth knowledge of basketball, Basketball England, and FIBA regulations
  • Regular availability on weekends and weekday evenings
  • Willingness to travel to sports venues (driver’s license or travel card is an advantage)
  • Eagerness to learn, develop and grow
